Today September 26- 2022 we learned about accessibility and dashboards. There Are people who may not be able to digest information the same way the average person can. Accessibility allows ways for these users to still consume information.
Ways dashboards can be more accessible. Making the font bigger can help people who have trouble seeing or that need to wear glasses to read.
Added different colors for different dimensions. Especially Color blind colors can help people who may be color blind or not be able to see certain colors that well.
Added shapes on on dimensions can easily help someone interpret what they are looking at.
Added alt text so interpreters can read what is on the screen for users that may be blind or keyboard only users. One downside with this is Tableau can not read text objects or filter titles. There is a way around this limitation. Make your dashboard title and filter title a sheet title and the interpreter will be able to read it.
Overall adding as much context as possible will make your dashboard more accessible to everyone!
