Creating a filled map without geografic data

Today I wanted to show the map of Great Britain and I wanted to color each part, England, Wales and Scotland in a different color. But I had no geo-data, I just wanted to have this map as some kind of illustration.

So here is, what I did and you can do, too:

Create a calculated field called UK and just insert the string “United Kingdom”. Change the data type of this field to ->geographic role->country/region.

Next create three more calculated fields, one for Wales, one for England and one for Scotland. Each Time, insert the name as a string like “England”. Change the data types of all of this three fields to -> geographic role->state.

Double-click on the UK field- the map will appear. Drag one of the three state fields on the left corner of the map where “add a marks layer” appears and drop it. The state field should automatically be dragged to color when adding it as another map-layer. Do the same with the other two state-fields. Now you have a map with three layers: one for Scotland, one for England, one for Wales. Now go to each mark card individually. There you have to do two things: change the chart type to map and drag the UK-field to detail. Now you can format the colors of each part as wished.
